If you are a provider who submits, or is interested in submitting, 200 claims or less per submission, ACS EDI Gateway offers a free claims submission software product called WINASAP2003. WINASAP2003 allows you to submit X12N 837s directly to ACS EDI Gateway.

  • This product for Maryland PMHS is available in the PRODUCTION version.
  • In order to use the software to submit claims, a provider enrollment form and Trading Partner Agreement must be completed and mailed to EDI Gateway.

To download and use WINASAP2003 free submission software

  1. If you are not already enrolled with ACS, go to
    www.acs-gcro.com/Medicaid_Accounts/Maryland_PMHS/Enrollment/enrollment.htm

  2. Mail forms to ACS EDI; Attn: Technical Support/Enrollment;
PO Box 34734; Washington, DC 20043-4761
  3. After receiving a Trading Partner ID, go to
    www.acs-gcro.com/Medicaid_Accounts/Maryland_PMHS/Software/software.htm
    .
  4. Download WINASAP2003 software.
  5. Receive logon and password from ACS EDI Gateway.

Larger-volume submitters can submit either directly to EDI or indirectly through a Billing Agent or Clearinghouse, such as WebMD.

If you are a provider who submits 837 Institutional and Professional claims directly from your own facility using vendor-supplied software:

  • Please indicate which software you will be using in your provider enrollment form.
  • Please contact your vendor to ensure they've established communication with ACS EDI Gateway to begin the enrollment and testing process. Your vendor must fill out a submitter enrollment form, sign a Trading Partner Agreement, and test with EDIFECS and ACS EDI Gateway before submitting production claims.

ACS works with most software vendors in the United States, to allow submissions directly to ACS. Under the HIPAA guidelines, in order to submit electronic claims to the ACS clearinghouse, providers/submitters must sign a Trading Partner Agreement with ACS.

Some Maryland software vendors are:

  • Vesta
  • KBS Medical
  • Xachmed
  • Software Unlimited
  • Computermart Medica
  • Payer Pat
  • Protologics
  • Metro Data
  • Hoover Computer
  • Psychbill
